How does a hovercraft work?
A hover craft works by a bottom fan pushing air on the ground the the air rising to create lift. The hover craft goes in directions with a thrust motor and a rutter for more accurate steering. The skirt of the hover craft must be flat so that you can get as much air power as possible.A hovercraft rides on air under pressure continuously supplied by a lift system and directed into a chamber under the craft. A flexible curtain called a skirt is attached to the outer perimeter of the craft that forms the air chamber and contains the air beneath. It is propelled forward with a thrust propeller.

What are the common parts of hovercrafts?
The common parts of a hover craft are the skirt, the lifting motor, the thrust motor, the fans, the rutter, and all the wires to connect it all together.

How do you design for weight distribution?
To design the weight distribution you can either put the lifting motor in the middlie of the craft, then you would probally have to but some weight in the front though. You can also put the lifting motor more towards the front then you really dont need the extra weights in the front. Also no matter where you put the lifting motor the thrust motor will fo in the back, so you really do not need any extra weights in the back.

How do you make the hovercraft float?
You make the hover craft float by having a flat on the bottom skirt with no holes or anything like that in it. Also the lift is caused by the lifting motor pushing air on the ground and the air coming back up and pushing the skirt up to create lift. That is how you mainly make a hover craft float.

How do you make the hovercraft move in a direction?
You make the hovercraft move in direction by attatching a cup on the back the putting the thrust motor on the bigger end of the cup so then all the air will funnel through the cup. You can also attatch a rutter for very accuarate steering. That is how you make a hovercraft go in a direction.

How can you steer the hovercraft?
You can steer a hover craft with a rutter is basically that streight foward.

What surfaces are best for hovercraft operation?
From my obvservations the best surfaces are very flat surfaces with little to no obstilces in the hovercrafts way.
